Chris Haigh presents award
The inuagural NCC Golf Tournament was held on 20th November, at Rusper Golf Club.
It started off at 12 for beers and food in the Club House, 27 people teed off and 24 completed the round. The non finishers blamed “Snow” for their failure! Which as unbelievable as it sounds was actually quite heavy!!
Winners are as follows:
The “Closest to the Pin” competion was won by James Penfold who shot within 1ft of the hole, and the “longest drive” was won by Martin Clabby. The overall competition was tied between Martin Clabby and Jacos Van de Werve with a net score of 41 (3 over for nine holes). The tie was decided by a “Putt off” competition at the evening cricket club dinner dance with Martin eventually winning the Russell Haigh Memorial Trophy.
The Trophy was presented to Martin by Chris Haigh (see photo).
Next year has already been booked for the 19th November 2005, same time same place. Any entries or enquiries to Simon Capel or Jim Penfold.
